Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you and generated as you use the Platform:

• Your name, email address, and mandatory phone number when you register.
• Optional profile details — district, state, target exam, preferred language, bio, and profile photo.
• Exam attempts, answers, scores, ranks, and progress/analytics data as you practice and take tests.
• Revision and syllabus-tracking data, and notifications generated for your account.
• Payment references, uploaded payment screenshots, and order records (never your card, UPI, or bank details — see §3).
• Mentor/doubt-support messages, and any image attachments you upload (kept only temporarily — see §5).
• If you connect Google Sign-In, your Google account identifier — never your Google password.
• Security and audit logs (e.g. login events, admin actions on your account), and essential session cookies required for the Platform to function (we do not use non-essential tracking cookies).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the Platform — authenticating your account, recording exam attempts and computing scores/ranks/progress analytics, tracking your practice streaks, powering revision and syllabus reminders, showing relevant recommendations, granting premium access when you have an active subscription or purchase, responding to mentor/doubt messages, and communicating important account, payment, or service updates.

3. Payment Information

Where online payments are enabled, purchases are processed by Razorpay. Card, UPI, and bank account details are entered directly into Razorpay's own secure checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on SkillTop's servers. We only receive and store the payment's status and a Razorpay-issued reference id. For a manual UPI payment, we store the UTR/reference you provide and the payment screenshot you upload, used solely to verify and activate your purchase.

4. Purpose, Retention, and Security

We retain your account and practice data for as long as your account remains active. If your account is suspended, your data is retained (not deleted) so access can be restored if the suspension is lifted. Mentor-chat image attachments are deleted automatically a short time after being sent (currently 2 days) — they are not retained long-term. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect your data, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the Platform — for example Razorpay for payment processing, our hosting/infrastructure provider, and (if configured) an email delivery provider for account notifications — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that service.

6. Minors and Guardian Supervision

SkillTop is intended for exam aspirants generally, some of whom may be minors preparing under a parent's or guardian's supervision. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use the Platform only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for reviewing these Terms and this Privacy Policy on the minor's behalf.

7. Your Choices and Requests

You can review and update your profile details at any time from your Profile page. For any other request regarding your data — including access, correction, or deletion requests — please reach out via our Contact page or our grievance contact below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date and policy version above reflect the current version. Continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
